Minutes
- SOWN[at]HOME Nodes
- Halls' Bars' nodes (daveruss)
- No progress.
- Chamberlain node was down for just over a day, but came back up, and had not been restarted. Only the network connection had been an issue.
- New node deployments (crwilliams)
- No progress. This will be focused on in the new year.
- Buying new nodes (Davetaz)
- The OpenMesh nodes are not in stock. We have requested a quote for purchase and shipping from the US, but have not yet received this quote.
- N-nodes (Tyler)
- We are considering buying an Atheros based 802.11n card to fit in the mini PCI slot on the Alix board that has had OpenWRT installed.
- eg. SparkLAN WMIA-207GN XSpaN (see eBay)
- eg. SparkLAN WMIA-268N XSpaN a/b/g/n draft 2.0 - Available from http://oxfordtec.com
- There is also the http://www.pcengines.ch/alix6b2.htm which has miniPCI Express (though note that the slot does NOT support WiFi cards).
- We should also purchase some 802.11n compatible antennas.

- Node in Building 2A lecture theatre H (Tyler)
- Stagesoc
- Not officially cleared, but casual inquiries met no objections.
- Lots of free network ports, but only one attached to a faceplate and known to be on a working vlan (stagesoc use this one occasionally). See [1]. There is also a working 4-way reachable in that rack.
- Node could be mounted above door onto wood.
- Preferred location is just near the speaker that is mounted close to the ceiling. Ideally to be powered by PoE.
- We need to identify a working Meraki to be used as a campus tunnelled node, and will do a trial deployment, and then contact iSolutions to advise them of the setup.
- Stagesoc
- SOWN VoIP
- Basic development setup is complete.
- Davetaz is to get the machine registered with ECS.
- Conference setup was discussed, and will be detailed further soon.
- Workshop feedback
- Major improvements were made to the logging setup.
- Todo List

- Updates on Projects
- AOB
- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Long-range_Wi-Fi#Italy
- We have found the WRAP board. It is in Davetaz's hands. It was formerly known as Faraday Node.
