Meeting (to be) held on 2007/12/13 at 19:00 in Mary Campbell Room

Previous meeting: 6 December 2007 19:00:00 Next meeting: 10 January 2008 19:00:00

  • Node Requests
    • How should we handle those who have collected nodes and not deployed them
      • Email sent on Wednesday 5th to node #278 (no reply as of 14:12 on 12/12)
      • No email sent to about node #277 as was initially up.
    • Next deployment date (Wednesday 9th January 2008?)
      • How many people should we schedule to collect nodes?
    • Other node request news
  • IPv6 firewall
  • Feedback on the press release
  • All servers are advertising routes to each interface they have... this removes the point of aggregated-routing.
  • No servers are advertising routes to nodes. Once you have logged in you cannot access the 10.13/16 network, as there is no return-route.
  • Should we push data to augur via a mysql database on augur?
  • Should we back-up augurs mysql databases? (The ones we use obviously)
    • We need a [firewall hole] if we do.
    • (Augur is the ECS webserver that www.sown.org.uk is hosted on)
  • UDP versus TCP tunnels.
    • More [firewall holes] needed, for some reason UDP inbound is open, but outbound is dropped.
  • Saturday Surgery
  • Next meeting 10th January 2008 (First Thursday after UGs return)
  • AOB

Minutes

  • People who haven't connected nodes: Send email to request return of nodes
  • Wednesday 9th January 2008 is accepted as a suitable date
  • Email 10 people and make it clear that they must be connected with ADSL connection.
  • IPv6: Morse and Davetaz working on this - upgraded to debian-unstable
    • Reboot server of OpenVPN problem solved (tunnel brought up and down properly with v6)
  • Routing problem: statically assign aggregated route? Not a good idea, but probably the solution
    • Real solution: Get quagga to advertise aggregated route, but is this possible?
  • MySQL Firewall hole: Yes, from dev and auth to MySQL.
  • Yes we should back it up with cronjobs. Not urgent, once a week or so.
  • UDP over TCP, but need firewall ports open.
  • Sat surgery: Yes, there will be 6 people available start at 11am :)

http://www.demarctech.com/techsupport/downloads.html - Drivers for the 11a cards, XP custom. Madwifi from Sourceforge.

  • AOB: No
