802.11ac

802.11ac (formally known as IEEE 802.11ac) is a Wi-Fi protocol which operates in the 5GHz band. It is the latest Wi-Fi protocol that has widely available hardware and can provides speeds of 433MBits/s on a single antenna, 866MBit/s from 2 antennas with a double-width channel can potentially provide speeds over 1GBit/s with multiple antennas in MIMO with double-width channels.

Usage by SOWN

Currently only SOWN-Zepler and a bespoke HomeNode built on an Archer C7 owned by User:Nsefan cannot provide Wi-Fi Internet access using 802.11ac.
