eduroam

SOWN wireless access points are eduroam enabled. This allows users who are members of eduroam participating institutions to log on to our network using the same credentials (username and password) as those at their home institution.

eduroam uses 802.1X technology to ensure that your network traffic is encrypted whilst travelling over the wireless connection. Furthermore, your login credentials are authenticated securely.

Your home institution should provide you with details on how to connect to eduroam. University of Southampton members can obtain support via the iSolutions eduroam support pages. A full list of participating UK institutions is available from the eduroam(UK) sites listing and location web page.

Use of our eduroam-enabled nodes must be in accordance with our Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) and the eduroam(UK) Policy.
